This graphic embraces the circle we ride, looking down from a mountain or the view out of a wave. Both top and base are the same picture but different views. David already had this picture in his head at the first design meeting. His friend already had started ages ago to finalize David’s vision. Indeed it was an astounding work that again got complimented with a very nice technical detail. A wooden stringer was running along the middle of the board, emulating a surfboard. His Pig choice was obviously a surfer dude.

Lance Violette sent us scrapbooks into which we could draw doodle and what else. At the end he collected these et voilà. The graphic of Jeff was a collection of our thoughts and creativity. Our flags combined under the banner of the base which said I am Un..Inc.

JP decided to have Lance take a crack at illustrating his Idea of using a Camouflage print incorporated with personal photos and his personal pig choice was a Norwegian Viking warrior Pig.

The most indulging Un..Inc graphic! Jim became a mentor for Un..Inc. Going with us on promotion tour to Japan and constantly fighting the corporate conquest. The owner of Pulp68 shop in Geneva outdid himself when dropping this graphic. The silver foil mirror in the top sheet between the binding complimented this well rounded design.

Continuing to use Noah Butkus, Gigi was following the same routine of having a vague idea that could become a story. The story had to get pieced together in a couple rounds of design drafts. The idea was to work on a sword base, like the one of Terje’s old pro model with the wooden Viking sword. That said Gigi received the first drafts of a sword from Noah. Gigi was undergoing ACL surgery at this time and decided on a Pirate Pig with a peg leg. Now the sword needed to get changed into a sabre to fit his storyboard. Also he fell in love with his wife Steffi, so the whole storyboard should sound like: If one could cut through the gross world, he will find beauty in it. The process inspired Gigi. The green snot, the cold blue lips, everything that had color Gigi filled in like a coloring book. Gigi states this being his favorite graphic of all time. The final touch was to add the hand that’s gripping the sabre on the base. So once holding the board upright on the back binding - it may look like holding up a sabre. Making the imaginary border of snowboards being toys disappear.

Jeff wrote Un..Inc with black marker onto a blue based prototype board which is to be seen in his honorable last video part in „Back in Black“. Lance adopted Jeff’s way of writing Un..Inc, with two dots and made the base graphic. The top sheet was laid-out with Jeff's original scrapbook drawings to what we felt like embodies Jeff’s aspiration. The flying pig logo was born and added as a small aluminum inlet on his base. The sales of this board proceeded to the JLA foundation which goal it was to build a skatepark in Mammoth, where Jeff grew up.

JP had Hersk drawings laid out on his board. Avoiding the graphic to cover nose nor tail with his choice of giving his pig a set of headphones to nod with. At the time Jp indeed was sporting big headphones most time.

Romain had a clear idea how to represent Un..Inc (Unincorporated): ripping off every logo in the snowboard industry. A top sheet with ripped off board company logos was created but got censored by Burton. Instead he got the pink top sheet, which still was pretty punk anyways. Although he turned the concept around wanting the Burton Process Logo upside down to make it look like an „R“, labeling his board under Romain Snowboards. His idea of ripping on any snowboard brand out there maybe did dilute like a fart into warm air but finally you can smell it on this site exclusive. Also exclusive are some original drawings of Romain’s swiss graffiti artist friend in which a pig is humping the Burton process logo aswell. The final base scenario in which pigs give a branding to a human is putting the question out there of who is in charge? Or was here another sadistic kind of love he expresses with his pig on a leash.

"The design process always started with a crazy feeling of doubt, if I could really make the most out of this position to create something that entirely shows my motivation?" This years graphic was an accumulation of pieces which Gigi put together out of the artists previous works. For example the bad wolf and the rocket fist should be later combined on the base creating the end of story which leaned towards the words, “chasing the devil out of earth”. The pattern of Yen, Euro and Dollar coins on the base gave Gigi's graphic more of an old computer game look. As a last detail his x-ray pig turns out to be struck by lightning to play a mockery of how awkward I felt at the beginning and how obsessed I became to direct this process towards a colorful cartoon revenge of the three little pigs.

David’s idea was to use his last year’s graphic and take it apart in his own collage. The main theme of his collage would be Costa Rica where he has bought property and built a house to live out his surfing passion. The base he built up with motivational phrases and his pig speaking loud and clearly of a design attitude that had no rules.

Jeff got added to the team after our first design meeting. Nonetheless Jeff had a inspiring taste about art. He worked close with Ryan McGuiness for his first board graphic.

Romains design description was aiming for something subtle on the top sheet but screaming explosive on the base. He said: "When I jump that is when my energy gets discharged". From his Videopart in Vivid, I found Romain's personality comparable to Dr. Jackyll and Mr. Hyde on a snowboard. This graphic shows it very well.

At first glance you will see David’s other passion is surfing. Being a skate rat in his early days he kept the top sheet punk-like black with some hidden skulls. A closer look lets one discover a spiritual touch recognizable by his base imagery of a sand clock which should represent the cycle of life.

Gigi decided for graphic artist Cody Hudson to illustrate the story of „dead businessmen“. Gigi's trickling approach to graphic placement is not unlikely to writing a story on a paper. Starting at the top of the boards nose showing members of Un..inc throwing snowballs down to the lemming like business men’s which lead themselves down the money hole. The base was left to tell the end of story.

This special issue included a double sided poster of us staging in Kiss make-up on the one side and the other had action photos showing the Un..Inc army at work. These boards with the kiss bases were specially made for the Un..inc team shoot in New Zealand.

Well, at the beginning, I was a part of it because it was my job.  But in the very first meeting when we all started talking about what snowboarding means to us and how much of a part of our lives it has been, it became clear to me that this was not the typical snowboard graphics/marketing project.

As we sat there, all of us from different corners of the world, but each with the same stories of friendships and riding I knew that un..inc. had to ability to transcend being just a series of snowboards.

Now I’m part of un..inc. because I believe in what it stands for.

The Norwegian rider built up a strong reputation immediately following his introduction to the industry in 2001 by beeing voted 2001 Transworld Rookie Rider of the Year and receiving a wide array of media exposure. J.P.'s explosive airs and smooth but powerful style has put him on the map as one of the most talented.

Romain was the most photographed rider of the 2002/2003 Season and was named the "Rock Star of the Year" by fellow pro riders at the Transworld Riders Poll Awards. Some people might be under the impression that Romain is a crazy motherf-ker-to the point where it’s not even fun anymore. If so, then let me say this: He’ll look at something and say, “I’m gonna do that.“ And everyone else will be like, “Are you f-king nuts?” Shit that doesn’t look doable, he’ll stomp it nine out of ten times.

I started riding for Burton in 1996. Two years later the Seven series was created whereas seven riders found themselves obliged to take on a rider driven project. My austrian Team manager Hasi put Sani Alibabic and me on the firing line. Grand invitations to photo shootings and other wildcards awaited. Jason Brown was the mentor of this concept. As he parted with Burton after several years to found Capita Snowboards. Burton continued the strive for the core essence these rider collaborations brought to their marketing. Following to my breakthrough-part in Kingpin’s „Destroyer“ I was awarded „Rookie of the Year“ by Transworld in 2000. Un..Inc found it's inaugural with Team manager Rene Hansen in 2003. The years Un..Inc existed were not merely upping my learning about the industry but also left me with a hunger for creating my own presence.

DCP says about himself:“I really love to ride pow and jump off stuff“. A closer look will make you discover his other passion is surfing, which flows naturally into his way of riding a snowboard.

From feeling Burton had lost its connection and relevance to the core. To selling Jake and senior management on the project, to pick the right crew (GIGI, RDM, JP, DCP and Blotto), then to sit down and hear what these guys were interested in. To Gigi and Blotto coming to me during a session in VT asking, if we can include Jeffrey, to sitting down and sell the inclusion of Jeff to Jake and get his sign off. To starting the graphic process with Lance Violette in the basement of Jdk design.

UnInc are my friends. We ride, we hang, we learned about life together. We might be separated now, but not my memories of these amazing times, I hold them close to me. It’s these experiences and memories that have helped me stay stoked and keep a smile on my face…from then till now and in the future.

JLA has been on the forefront of Jibbing. Credited as the first guy spinning a 450 onto a down rail. His raw talent and unpredictable way of expressing it on his snowboard lead him to a late addition to the Un..Inc crew, finding the creative output he was craving for.

The new generation kid which the Un..Inc pig took under its wings in 2008. Team additions were never lighthearted as for example read Mikkel Bang’s story. At first Burton sent Danny on a team trip with us all the way to Australia. Somewhere throughout the trip just after JP’s birthday was Danny’s birthday following. Romain had brought a pig suit along with him and Danny had to wear it the entire day, even while lingering on the beach. Him in his pig suit can be seen on his inaugural ad with our campaign of screen print influenced poster ads. The team was backing Danny 100%.

Romain's 2006 board designer and conceptualist Jim Zbinden owns a widely known collector shop named Pulp68 in Geneva. Romain invited him for a team trip to Japan where he acquainted his member status. Jim has big ideals which made him part of our team in fighting the corporate conquest. Jim and Romain brought together the team for a week in Geneva where we got busy shooting skits for the intro of an Un..Inc Movie yet to be released.
